TVs, monitors, and other electronics are costly to recycle. The good news, however, is that many retailers will take back their products for recycling at no cost to you!
We believe that retailers and manufacturers should take responsibility for the entire life cycle of their products, but we know that retailers do not always make that an option. If you've checked the link above and find you're out of luck with your retailer, our Sandy Springs Recycling Center can take limited items and within that, they are often limited to Sandy Springs and Johns Creek Residents only.
Not a Sandy Springs or Johns Creek resident? eWaste ePlanet, Novus Solutions, LLC and Atlanta Recycling Solutions are three organizations we are proud to recommend. They will accept electronics from any person regardless of residency for safe and responsible handling and recycling.
Electronics recycling at the Sandy Springs Recycling Center for any individual at NO CHARGE:
- Rechargeable, NiCad, Lithium, button cell, and automotive batteries. We do NOT accept Alkaline (single-use) batteries at KNFB, but the good news is they can be safely disposed of in your household trash.
- Cell phones
- Computers & Accessories (monitors incur a fee and may only be recycled by Sandy Springs and Johns Creek residents)
- Inkjet and Laser Printer cartridges
- Miscellaneous Electronics
- Microwaves, however please place these in the "Scrap Metal" area, not the electronics area.

TV and computer monitors:
- $15.00 for LCD TV or Monitor smaller than 60"
- $25.00 for LCD TV or Monitor 60" and up
- $30.00 for CRT TV or Monitor smaller than 29"
- $55.00 for CRT TV or Monitor 29" and up
We do NOT accept the old console TV's with wooden cases, or large projection televisions. Please contact your local waste hauler for suggestions on a landfill near you.
Light bulbs:
- $1.00 Fluorescent compact curly
- $2.00 Fluorescent tubes shorter than 4'
- $5.00 Fluorescent tubes 4' or longer
Smoke detectors $2.00
Electronics containing mercury $5.00

Now accepting paint!
Bring in your unwanted latex, oil-based paints, stains, and spray cans, and we'll make sure they get recycled the right way! Pricing is simple and based on container size—spray cans, pints, and quarts are just $2 each; one-gallon cans are $5; and 5-gallon buckets are $25. Paint must remain in its original container. We can't wait to help you clear out that clutter responsibly!
