Sweep the Hooch

Sweep the Hooch is an annual watershed-wide trash cleanup that brings together hundreds of volunteers each year at dozens of parks, tributaries, and access points along the Chattahoochee River. On March 22, 2025, Chattahoochee Riverkeeper hosted the 15th Annual Sweep the Hooch cleanup at 64 sites throughout the Chattahoochee River watershed. A record-breaking 1,500 volunteers participated and removed 41 TONS of trash and recyclables from the river basin! Now Accepting Paint!
Through our partnership with Atlanta Paint Disposal, you can now drop off your unwanted latex paint, oil-based paint, stains, and spray cans at our location. To ensure proper environmental handling, we charge $25 for 5-gallon buckets, $5 for 1-gallon cans, and $2 for quarts, pints, and spray cans. All materials must be in their original, labeled containers and cannot be mixed or leaking. Help us keep our community green by bringing your paint in for responsible recycling today!
