Adopt-a-Road (AAR) is Johns Creek's community litter cleanup program. Pick a road near your home or business, commit to four cleanups a year, and we'll put your name on a sign!
The program is never full, we can always add new roads. If you want to adopt a stretch near you just apply below
We provide a "starter kit" when you sign up — vests, bags, gloves, and grabbers. It's completely free, it's meaningful, and it keeps Johns Creek beautiful. Need more supplies? Scroll down for our suggestions!
Visibly, measurably cleaner. Neighbors notice. Visitors notice. You notice.
Roadside litter doesn't stay on the road. It washes into storm drains, streams, and eventually the Chattahoochee. Every cleanup is an act of environmental protection.
Your family, your business, or your organization gets permanent recognition on the road you adopted. That's a point of pride every time you drive past it.
Sponsors tell us that cleanup days become something their group genuinely looks forward to. It's quality time outside, doing something real, with people you care about.
There's something deeply satisfying about filling bags and driving away from a clean road knowing you did that.
When your neighbors see your group out there, some of them want to join. It spreads.

Never. This is the most common misconception we hear. Johns Creek can always add new road segments. If there's a stretch near your home, your business, or somewhere you care about, we can make it available. Just apply and we'll figure it out together.
Most groups finish a cleanup in 1-2 hours. You commit to four cleanups over two years — as little as 8 hours total to make a real, lasting difference in your community.
Just yourself or your group. We provide safety vests and trash bags. Wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and bring water.
Yes! Participants must be 12 or older. Kids 12-15 need one supervising adult for every three participants. It's a wonderful way to show young people what community stewardship looks like.
Life happens and we completely understand. Just stay in touch with us and we'll work with you. We're not here to penalize good people — we just want the roads clean.
Never. Completely free. We provide supplies and signage at no charge.
Via JotForm — the link is in every reminder email and right here on this page. Please use the form so your cleanup gets counted in our impact stats!
Yes! If you're motivated to do more, we love that. Each road requires its own agreement but the process is the same. Just let us know.
We'll confirm your road is available and send your agreement within a few business days. Once signed, we'll mail your supplies and you're ready to go!
It means that road is waiting for a sponsor like you! Check our map, find it, and apply. Or just tell us which road you want and we'll take it from there.
Did you see a sign on the side of a road saying "This Road is Available for Adoption"? Check out our map below to make sure. Our map is updated frequently, but signs on the road are only updated once a sponsor has completed two cleanups.
