Community Service spots are limited and on a first-come first-served basis (no pre-registration).
We require a minimum of 24 business hours from your final hour of service to finalize and return your verified service log to you.
Without us, much of North Fulton wouldn't recycle. North Fulton needs your help!
Guide customers to the correct bin for their recyclables, assist in collecting donations, sort incoming recyclables, and bale cardboard and plastics so that our materials are ready to be recycled into new products.
Dress: Please dress in comfortable protective clothes for that day's weather conditions and ensure that you have closed-toe shoes. You will be outdoors for the duration of this opportunity and working in close proximity to heavy items, motor vehicles, and machinery. We want you to be comfortable and safe! Please also bring your own clearly-marked water bottle to reduce single-use plastics.
COVID-19 Precautions: All community service workers will be outdoors, wearing masks if not fully vaccinated, and adhering to social distancing guidelines. Hand sanitizer will also be available. Community Service Workers are required to abide by these rules during this service opportunity.
Age restrictions: Community Service Workers must be at least 18 years old.

We are on a mission to make Sandy Springs and Johns Creek beautiful places to live, work, and play through excellent environmental stewardship. One of the services we offer the public is the Sandy Springs Recycling Center--a place where ANYONE can recycle their curbside recyclables free of cost.
Our back processing lot and holding trailers are in need of some TLC to make them look and function just as well as the front lot! If you love a good makeover, are invigorated by physical service, and care about recycling, we want to hear from you! You will be working with staff and other volunteers to clear out and reorganize two materials holding trucks so that they are more organized, efficient, and allow additional space for collecting and sorting recyclable materials.
There are two service shifts: 9:00am-11:30am, and 11:30am-2:00pm. Click the link below to get all the details and sign up!
We host several large city-wide recycling events in Johns Creek and Sandy Springs every year and it takes a LOT of volunteer power to pull them off! Want to help us make it look easy? Sign up for our volunteer newsletter below.
The Sandy Springs Recycling Center is CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC on WEDNESDAYS
Wednesday is our processing day. Volunteers, vendors, and Community Service Workers are welcome on Wednesdays; however, we are closed to the public
PLASTIC BAGS NO LONGER ACCEPTED Return bags, films, and wraps to retailers for recycling. Plan to carry a reusable bag with you whenever you shop to reduce single-use plastic bags
Please see our News & Events page for details on both of these decisions.
